Community funerals

Community Funerals

Our Bereavement Services department deal with Public Health Section 46 funerals under the Control of Diseases Act 1984. We use the term Community Funreals for -

  • Public Health Funerals
  • Paupers Funerals
  • Welfare Funerals

we call them Community Funerals.

Situations where no other funeral arrangements are being made can arise because -

  • the deceased has no traceable adult family or close friends
  • no one is able to take responsibility for the funeral for example due to lack of funds
  • no one is willing to take responsibility for the funeral for example the family may have been estranged for many years
